I LOVE #TransformationTuesday! I’ll admit, when I first saw this hashtag, I thought how egotistical are these people! But I realized that I was bitter and upset–not with the world–but myself. Now I recognize and realize that #TT isn’t about the person posting as much is it about those viewing their photos. We are so quick to judge by what we see right here and now that we neglect to see what it took to bring someone to this very moment!
This past Sunday I ran with 15K other runners in San Jose, CA. I completed my 7th #halfmarathon since my first in August 2012. I’ll be the first to admit that I’d be the last person to believe that this is where I’d be right here and now if you asked me that two years ago! Me–a runner???? LOL, ROTFL, LMAO kind of laughing!
But here I am. And not only did I run on Sunday but I achieve my personal record of completing my half in 2 hours and 2 minutes–my first one was 2 hours and 35 minutes and I was just happy to be under 3 hours then!!
What I love about #TT is that it gives us an opportunity to share who we are now and how we got here. In addition to, it allows us to stop and reflect on how much we’ve achieved! What a little bit of work each day adds up to when you look at the bigger picture! How I went from walking to running! How I went from 345+ lbs to 175lbs!
It doesn’t happen overnight! But in the journey comes many worthwhile lessons learned! The journey allows me to live a #HEALTHY sustainable life. I wasn’t in this for the quick fix but the lifelong change!
Thank you for the lesson learn, the opportunity to share, and the motivation/patience/support throughout it all!
